On March 25, 2007, Troop 521 hit the trail at Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park.  Half the Troop did a 5-mile hike to complete the map and compass requirement for 2nd Class Scout.  In spite of a couple of wrong turns at the beginning of the trail, by the end of the hike the Pit Bull Patrol knew exactly where they were and where  they were going.  In the meantime, the guys who are going on the Appalachian Trail this summer made a 10-mile loop carrying loaded backpacks.  At the end of the trail, everyone had seen a lot of ground and some beautiful scenery.
