Troop 521 took to the trail at Land
Between the Lakes in November. We arrived on Saturday morning,
set up camp, fixed PB&J sandwiches for lunch and headed out.
The short days at this time of year meant that we could only cover
about 8 miles of trail. While we were out there, some of the
guys were able to work on their plant identification. We made
it back to camp in time to begin fixing dinner. Since we had a
couple of guys working on their 1st Class cooking requirement, we
had a choice of two excellent suppers; chicken and rice casserole
with salad and spaghetti with garlic bread. After a good
night's sleep, the two cooks teamed up to produce a ton of
"breakfast pizza." In staying with troop tradition, we stopped
off at the Dairy Freeze in Dover on the way home for shakes and
onion rings. The weather was spectacular, the food was great,
the trail was challenging and fun. It was a great way to spend
the weekend.
