In August, we go to Grimes Canoe Base and spend the weekend traveling downriver through some pretty fast spots as well as some great places to swim. This is our group before we "hit" the river.

We always get a safety briefing and warnings about any dangerous places to avoid. Flotation jackets are a must for everyone throughout the day. Sure glad we didn't have to sleep in them. About halfway through the trip, stopping for food is a must. Wrapping lunch tightly and keeping it in floatable waterproof bags makes a big difference.
