At Webelos in the Woods,
Troop 521 proudly accepted three new Scouts all of whom had earned the
Arrow of Light. The weather on Saturday started out pretty well but
then the storms came and it rained and rained and rained. Activities
were moved to the pavilion and not everything that was scheduled got to
happen. Finally, on Saturday night, just in time for the ceremonies,
the rain stopped. First was the Arrow of Light ceremony and then the
crossover. Each new Scout was helped by Troop 521's Senior Patrol
Leader and one of its Patrol Leaders to retire his blue shoulder tabs and
Webelos neckerchiefs. They then received their red tabs and Troop
neckerchiefs and slides.
After congratulations
from the Scoutmaster, it was time for a quick meeting before everyone
headed home to start drying out clothes and gear.
